I love this ribbed baggy hat. It is two strands of a mohair blend and one strand of pink varigated acrylic. It worked up very well in the round on a pair of size 13 circulars needles.

Fantastic Market Bag

These market bags were so quick to crochet! They take about 1 and a 1/2 balls of peaches and cream or lily sugar n' cream kitchen cotton. They are super stretchy. I think a knot may be needed to tighten up the handle. Otherwise, there's plenty of room for a whole week's worth of veggies.

Grande Flower Pins

These gorgeous, obnoxiously large flower pins would dress up any cute jacket or sweater. They work up so fast. Instant gratification for impatient crocheters like moi! The purply pink one is made with hand-dyed dk acrylic I bought off ebay and the latter is made with gorgeously spun bamboo by Plymouth Yarns (I believe). I love the color effects each yarn has. Yum!

Button Ring

I love these little guys! Needs no water, only admiration! I plan to make more. I have cacti with flowers floating in my head! I beaded one with little purple glass beads, but gave it away before I could get a picture of it. I hope these are a smash at the Farmer's Market this year!

I'm pretty proud of my photo box. It has been completely worth the minimal effort. I have been using daylight as my light source, but am totally excited to use my Ott Lite soon. I have been wanting to do this for a while, but after reading Handmadeology's tutorial, I was motivated. I use a white piece of scrap material in place of the curved posterboard for bigger things. I love love love this.

Franky's Skull Sweater

Franky is a dachshound mix, but he's a good size at 15-20 pounds. I used Bernat's Skull Sweater pattern. I used Paton's wool. He looks so handsome in his sweater and it's really light, but warm. I don't think Franky minds wearing it at all. He never gives me trouble when I put it on him and he doesn't try to take it off either. Since its wool, it stretches a bit, so sometimes if he has been laying around in his sweater all day I'll find his arms (legs, whatever) sticking out and he looks like he's wearing a skull skirt! Also, his chest is pretty broad. If I could do it all over again, I would add about an inch or so more between the leg holes. I was pretty excited to make and finish this project, so it only took me a few days to finish. The chartwork, shaping, and edging were all very simple.
The only thing I am not too thrilled about is that I have to hand wash it. No biggie though.

I got two 50g balls of Berocco X-Press in a mixed bag of yarn at the thrift store. You are looking at both of them. I had just enough for the hat and the little bit for the middle of the flower. The yarn is just about the same as Lion Brands Baby's First. I tried making a grown up version of my baby flower hats. It has the same feel and stretch. But I loved the look of this big floppy flower.

Dinosaur Hat

I got into the dinosaur hat craze. I think Jackson looks adorable in both versions. I have an orange hat with yellow spikes in the works. They don't take too long and I absolutely love the easy and quick construction of the spikes. 4 triangles, sc across the bottoms to connect.

Still thinking about a girl costume hat. Maybe ladybug or cupcake?

Mary Jane and Sock Booties

These little Mary Jane Booties came from the Crochet to Go crochet card set. It wasn't very difficult to do, but there were lots of ends to cover and weave. I reshaped the first few rounds of the socks by adding decreases at the front center. They were too boxy and bulky. I also did not add the crochet thread trim. That seemed like too much work. I added a picot edging.

I don't think I will do that pattern again, but I would like to come up with my own version in the future.

Swirly Bibs

I really love these bibs. They are absolutely adorable, as well as, machine washable and dryable. I would say they would fit baby year 1-2. I used cotton and cotton blends and an H hook. They worked up in less than an hour.

Crocheted Bowl

I really like these little bowls. They are crocheted so tight that they become pretty sturdy. I'd like to eventually be able to stitch some little designs around when I have some extra time, but for now they whip up pretty quick. I used bulky rug wool and an F hook. I started with a plastic hook and saw how it bent like a fishing pole with a nice catch on the end. I soon switched to aluminum. The crocheting really wears on your hands, but the finished project rocks!

VCR Green Bag

Finally finished my VCR tape bag. It's awesome! It seems very sturdy, but I'm not too sure about that because I recall breaking the tape while crocheting, a few times. I used two strands of VCR tape and one strand of window ribbon (I really don't know what it is called, but it is ribbon with little squares cut out). It took about 5 or 6 spools of VCR tape ribbon. There were some that were an hour long and others were only 30-45 minutes. It's a pretty decent sized bag, as well: about 17" wide and 12" tall. I think I could hold a lot of groceries or whatever in it!

I've been working on the bag for about 2 years now off and on. It's such a loud project! Everytime I took it out I heard everyone sigh. It is hard to hear the tv.

Bulky Wrist Warmers

I love these wrist warmers because they keep your hands so toasty even with your fingertips bare. They are quick and easy to make.

The best part about them is that they are made with wool. So when they start to stretch out or need a fluff, throw them in the dryer for a few minutes and they are nice a snug and warm.

My wrist warmers are essential for protecting my hands from the Colorado winter.

Ballet Wrap Improvised

The original pattern for this was a regular ballerina wrap with a tie on the side or in the back. I made this very much so custom for a friend. She wanted longer sleeves, buttons to fasten, and longer in the front, rather than a cropped top. It was kind of a pain to customize but the finished product is really nice and it looks lovely on her. I loved working with Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool and I think the buttons that I picked out are perfect. The size 8 bamboo circular needles made the knitting so smooth and quick. To finish my deadline, I knitted for over 12 hours non-stop. It took over 2 hours just to sew, create edging, and weave ends!

Vintage Shawl Wrap

I absolutely love this shawl. I got it from Blueprint Crochet and made it for a wonderful friend. She was very happy. It fit me a little too baggy but she looked way better in it than me and I regret not getting a picture of her wearing it instead. It's a shawl wrap inspired by a vintage sleeping jacket. You wrap it around your body criss-crossed through the two slits in the front and tie it in the back. At first I really hated the design of the pattern (sorry Robyn Chachula) but the end product was so totally worth the frustration!

It took me a while to find the right yarn to use as a substitute. I used a silver light worsted weight acrylic yarn, but for the life of me, I can remember which brand. I believe it was caron.com Country. I will have to go through my labels.

Orange Arm Warmers

I made this scarf and mittens for a friend. I used a shell pattern repeat for the scarf and used a knit ravelry pattern for the mittens. I converted the knits into single crochet. I weaved ribbon through the wrists to help it stay put.

Birthday Dress

My Birthday Dress for April 24th. I have the broche and the black gloves, I just have to figure out which smoking hott shoes I need to buy.

It worked up super quick, even though it is knit. I love the cables and the eyelets that run down both sides. I think I got enough practice with the bobbles, but I still don't like them. They poke through the wrong side perfectly. I was thinking about getting those tiny rubber bands and wrap them around each bobble so that they stay put. I wonder if there is a special way to block bobbles?...

I am sure that I will get a better picture at the party. Also, I need to reattach the halter strap because it stretched so much from the weight of the dress. The dress could weigh ten pounds, easy.

It's worked in bulky wool yarn with US 10.5 needles.

Field Poppy

I made a poppy for Gramma's birthday. I overlapped the petals wrong and it still bothers me just looking at the picture!
The structuring was pretty easy. Make each petal seperately and sew them together two at a time, then sew the pair togehter. The center is a cast on, then bind of the stitches. The black dots are french knots. And then just an i-cord stem.
The worst part was repeating the french knots. I am no good at embroidery.

Yellow Rose

I made this yellow rose for a mourning friend. I crocheted the leaves and flower. I knitted the stem and then made it sturdier with wire. It didn't take much time from me and ended up being a useful, pretty, and thoughtful gift.

Shawl with pockets

This is the second shawl that I have made with the same exact yarn! I don't know how much yarn I used, but it could have only been one yard and still torturous. The pattern can be found on the Lion Brand website and calls for Homespun; however, I used Red Heart Symphony double stranded. Symphony is such a pain to use especially double stranded. But, it creates a super soft fabric! I wish I had a model, because the shawl is very dramatic!

My Socks

This is my very first complete adult sock made especially for me. I have not finished the second yet. I am really distracted, however the second sock is in my queue.

I got the pattern from the book Knitalong, which is an amazing book and I hope to buy it in the very near future. It calls for Manos del Uraguay yarn and Knitter's Cove did not carry it, so I bought a ball of yarn in the 20% off bin. I have misplaced the label, but I do remember the color was called Lemon Grape and I fell in love.

After Melena and I puzzled over the turning heel directions, it finally clicked.

The only thing that I am not too satisfied with is that you keep decreasing until only 8 stitches remain and use the Kitchener Stitch to bind off. Decreasing all the way to 8 stitches made the sock look elfish! I wish I foresaw that! And I suck at the Kitchener Stitch.

Jack's Socks

Found this cute pattern on Ravelry, called the Pitter Patter Socks. I asked Jack to pick out which pair of socks he wanted and these are what he chose. The pattern goes up to a 5T and that's the size I made. I used size 4 double points and Vanna's Choice yarn even though the pattern called for size 5 dpns and dk weight yarn. They fit him perfectly and he loves them. I am still searching craft stores and beyond for those non-stick dots that you put on the bottom of socks.

I am not very good at the Kitchener Stitch yet, so I tried it on one sock and didn't like it and did a three needle bind off on the second. Apparently everyone writes sock patterns differently. The heel in this pattern is mostly wrapped stitches and short rows.

I recommend this pattern.

Knitted Lavender

For my wedding I knitted lavender and my wonderful, awesome, amazing friend Melena crocheted asters for me. The stems for the lavender seemed to take forever to finish. I only made 14, but it took me almost a month! Just started putting all the wire in last night and have about 8 more to go. Haven't started on the asters yet. I have a lot of work to do this week as far as the wire goes! Eek!

I have a hollyhock to go with the other two for my bouquet and should be making one or two more flowers, but haven't figured out which to make.

Lacy Pineapple Stole

I got this pattern off of ravelry. It is a lovely pattern and I absolutely loved making it. I found the pattern specifically for my wedding on the 19th of Sept. It worked up so quickly and I praise the author for her creativity and amazing charts. From start to finish, she explained in depth the process. The blocking was a bit frustrating as I had never used blocking wire. I used Jade Sapphire Exotic Fibers Lacey Lamb and an E hook. I blocked it to be 78" L x 12 1/4" W. There were exactly FOUR ends to weave! OMG! I am so anxious to show this off. I think it will be a beautiful addition to my gown.

Granny Bag

I created this pattern all on my own! I like to create patterns that have very little fastening on and off. The strap, sides, and bottom are all one piece, but the two granny sides are seperately made. The yarn is a Red Heart multicolor that I absolutely fell in love with, but took forever to decide what to actually use it for. I used a little less than two skeins with an I hook. I have debated adding buttons or something for closure, but I like the way the sides drape around. I weaved ribbon in and out of the eyelets in the strap so that the straps don't stretch too much.

The idea for this came out of the Jul/Aug 07 issue of Crochet Today! I really wish that I had come up with this myself because it is so original and adds awesomeness to any room. I used Royale Crochet Thread size 3 Color Teal and a D hook. I got a 24" square canvas and actually used Elmer's glue to keep it on the canvas. I feel like an idiot now because I have found this great craft spray glue which would have worked wonders and not have taken so damn long! I used a gold acrylic paint and put one coat on. Then I got black acrylic paint and just doodled some lines here and there, then put another coat of gold over the black. I think its a pretty neat effect.

I hung this in my bathroom.

Lacy Tank Top

This is the product of one of those free patterns at Michael's. I've been saving it for a few years and finally decided to make it. It calls for two whole 6 oz skeins of Caron Simply Soft and I had just picked up the last two clearanced balls of Rubine Red which I had been wanting to make something with for the longest time. Perfect.

I made the front and back using not even one whole skein! How was the pattern that far off? I don't know what to use the rest of the yarn for now, because I can't get anymore. Whatever.

I love the lacy shells on the bottom. They were really fun to make; I think it was only a 4 row repeat. It took me forever to find the right ribbon to match this top. It's a skinny silky tubular rope kind of ribbon. They untie a lot, but it looks really cute with a black tank top under it.

Half Circle Crop Top

Oh man was this top tricky. I had started making this top a few years ago with a ball of blue Lion Brand Baby Soft (which I didn't realized I used so much), but never finished it because I just wasn't feeling it.

The pattern in Jul/Aug 07 Crochet Today called for Red Heart Luster Sheen and I just really don't like that yarn. Poking around in the Yarn Outlet I found some Mahopac Yarn Mohegan. It's a beautiful linen/cotton blend. It came out great.

I had so much trouble trying to figure out how to sew all of the pieces together. You make the front and back half circles and the sleeves, then crochet around the neck and bottom. I took the pieces apart a few times before I finally got it. Then after I had finished everything, the next night Knit and Crochet Today! came on Create and they featured this piece. I was so upset, but after they finished with the tutorial, they never even discussed how to sew them together. And I really think the yarn I used looks better than the Luster Sheen.

The pattern has an option to add a skirt to make a dress. It's really gorgeous, but I think it would be pretty expensive to make. I think I used about 6 balls of the Mohegan.

Purple Tank

This is the third time I have made the Cupcake Top from Happy Hooker and I think I finally found the yarn for the fit I want. It's Lion Brand Yarn Baby Soft in Lavender. The five ounces crochet this top without the sleeves perfectly with no yarn left over. I don't like the fit of these sleeves because I think that they are too big and I like the top without them anyway.
The pattern is super quick to work up and pretty hott to wear!

Knit Bag

I found the pattern for this bag on the Drops website. It was incredibly easy to make using 10.5 dpns and 2 balls of a variagated di.ve yarn. The pleats were pretty easy; all you do is knit a few stitches together off two needles. The strap is seed stitch and that really helped strengthen it. I think that the Drops knit patterns are a whole lot easier than their crochet patterns.

I never lined the bag and am really upset about it because I still used it and stretched it out quite a bit. I will eventually line it. It's a great bag and a decent size. I love the way the yarn worked up. The colors are very jewel toned.

Lacy Shell Scarf

I remember that I saw this on a website somewhere and just jotted down the stitch pattern repeat. I used Lion Brand Yarn Soft Baby in white and an H hook. I had intended to give it to someone for Christmas but was running out of time. I did finally finish it after Christmas. My daughter and I went to the movies to see some silly movie where apes save a planet and it was the best project to take. The stitch repeat is really easy and since the scarft was white so I didn't have a problem seeing it.

It's really nice to wear because it is light and really soft. It's a little fancy so its a great holiday dress up scarf.

Kitchen Curtains

I bought an issue of Better Homes and Gardens Crochet issue a few years back and it had a pattern for a little lacy cotton bistro curtain. The colors were bright sunny yellow and royal bluish. I liked the style, but couldn't think of making them because of the colors. There is also a table runner and chair cushions to make a really cute set.

I recently painted my kitchen. It was a terrible brown color with gorgeous white cabinets. I had been using this kitchen for almost a year and decided to paint it and make it brighter. I painted the walls white corn and the cabinet doors key lime. It looks really vintage. The pattern popped into my head immediately. I didn't really want to use the variagated cotton, but it was the closest color that they had. After I finished, the color tones really did mesh well.

The actual making of the pattern was really simple. Shells and dc, ch 1 mesh. The size of the first curtain fit perfectly in my smaller window, but had to do a little sizing to increase the second one to fit into the larger window.

I used peaches and cream cotton and an H hook.

Magnolia Runner

Somewhere along the line I came across a pattern for a bedspread on LionBrand.com. It's the Magnolia Afghan using Homespun yarn. I loved the magnolias and wanted something to cover the plastic drawers I use to store all of my yarn and whatnot. I decided just to use the panel with the flower squares, sew them together, add a little trim, and crochet some beads around the edging. I used a couple of balls of Gold Red Heart super saver and an I hook. It took 5 squares to evenly drape to the floor after blocking.

You have to croche the magnolia first which is a bit tedious, but once you get the hang of it, the magnolias become octogons and you're done. You sew the sides together into a strip. The pattern for the triangles was absolutley absurd. I do not appreciate having to "evenly sc" around anything. It just never comes out right. I came up with an even more absurd method. I started at the base of the triangle (made by the octogaons being sewn together) and increased single crochet up the side edges. It came out pretty even. The edging is a basic dc, sk 1 sc, ch 1 rep with beads evenly spaced in the ch 1 sps around.

I still need to make another runner for the other set of plastic drawers but have been completely swamped with other projects and experiments! Another idea i had was to use a much lighter weight yarn and small glass beads to make a more delicate and fancy dinner table runner.

I'll get it done sometime this year!

Circle Doily

This is the product of a free Circle Medallion Doily pattern sheet from Hobby Lobby or some such place. I believe they used a Red Heart sock yarn that just came out, but I love this yarn and wanted to try it with the pattern. It' s beautifully spun sock weight yarn with a purple and blue color. It used to be my Nana's, so it's obviously discontinued and vintage. It was made in a small town in South Carolina, where I am from. I originally had about 20 of the 1 oz/28 g balls of it and have been using it quite a bit over the few years that I've had it. The label doesn't say how many yards are in each ball, so it's always a risk making a project.
The picture on the pattern had the doily in picture frames. I love the idea of that, but I don't think that this was the right yarn to put in a frame. I will do this pattern again, but will use a variagated yarn and maybe make a couple in solids.
This was a really easy pattern, with only about 7 or 8 rounds.

Turle Shell

My daughter immediately wanted it and so did Jack! The pattern was incredibly difficult to follow. I would not make another one even if I had homespun.

Watermelon Skirt

I got this pattern from the Town and Country Twinkle Knits. I used huge size 19 circular needles and super bulky weight yarn that came on cones from a thrift store. I had exactly enough to finish this project. I actually researched Twinkle Knits when I was working on the skirt because the patterns are really confusing. The skirt looks nothing like it did on the model. The gauge was perfect. I love the colors but I don't think they are suitable for everyday wear. It's super bulky, but I might pull this out for a funky party someday. Maybe.

Boyfriend Sweater

This is my boyfriend sweater because I messed up the gauge on a substitute yarn. I found the perfect ball of Tweedle Dee yarn and carried it around until I could find the perfect thing to make with it. I came across the most basic stockinetter stitch sweater pattern in a Suss Collection pattern book. The pattern asked for two strands of Suss cotton. My gauge equation told me that it would come out right, but it came out super wide with too long sleeves and a gaping neck. I tightened up the neck with slip stitches around and left the wideness. The yarn is really warm and cozy as a wool/acrylic blend. The self-striping looks amazing.

This is one of my favorite sweaters ever.

Shell Cuff

I did not change colors for the shells because I didn't have another color thread in the same weight, however, I will be making another one with contrasting colors soon. I love green and pink together, so I was very happy to come across these buttons. The project took maybe 3 hours, only because it is very time consuming to make thirteen teensy little double trebles and not lose count every shell.

This pattern came from Crochet Today! March/April '08. I used one strand of Royale Crochet Thread Red size 3 and Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread Black size 10 with a D Hook. They're super cute with only 6 Rounds and use less than one ball of each color.

Pinapple Doily

I got this pattern from one of those free pattern sheets from Michael's. It's a great project for anyone who wants to practice making pinapple's but doesn't have time to make a tablecloth. This looks wonderful on my side table to accent a small potted plant. Pineapples are slightly confusing to me, but there aren't too many. I think the doily looks a little gothic in black and gives a more modern, artsy look.
I used Aunt Lydia's crochet thread and a size 7 steel hook.

Scarf with Flower

This is a scarf from the Stitch N Bitch Happy Hooker. I added a flower to it. I wasn't really happy with the way the colors came out. It's always a risk when you get variagated yarn. I love the colors seperately. I used Red Heart Super Saver.

Baby Ripple Vertical

I have acquired quite a bit of baby yarn over time, whether from swaps or scrap or thrift store buys. Somehow I had enough yarn for a very adorable baby ripple. I did two repeats of 2 rows of white between 2 rows of colors. I think that it looks very nice with the ripples vertical rather than horizontal. The yarns are all various brands and the pattern a rep of 3 dc, 3dctog, 3 dc, 3 dc in next st. Its a really quick, colorful, and easy way to use scrap yarn!

Troy's Teddy Bear

I made this bear for my nephew, Troy. I got the pattern out of Crochet Today! Jan/Feb '09 issue. I used Red Heart Super Saver 5 oz.; color: Coffee Fleck. I really really wanted to use the yarn suggested in the pattern, Red Heart Fiesta, but every store that I went to was sold out of it for what seemed like weeks on end.

I like making stuffed animals, but am terrible at embroidery, so the nose and mouth are not to my satisfaction. Making the pieces was pretty simple. The patterns for each piece is so alike, that its very quick to crochet.

The gift was a little late for Christmas, but I think it will be a great keepsake in a stuffed animal hammock or on a shelf when he is tired of playing with it.

Baby Round Ripple

I made this baby blanket for a friend. Her granddaughter was having her first birthday. I liked the idea of using a muticolored yarn and just not changing colors in a basic round ripple pattern. I used Bernat Baby Boucle color Fancy Free. I love those colors! It was a whopping 10.5 oz skein and I finished it off. It came out to be about 4 feet in diameter. I used Caron Simply Soft for the edging and the butterfly. My friend requested that I embroider initials in the blanket. I am pretty terrible at embroidering, but I gave it my all. You probaly wouldn't know that the initials are HRB if I didn't tell you! The butterfly was a creation based mostly on HDC and SlSt. I am not entirely satisfied with the shape of the butterfly. I would never give out the pattern for that until I can get it just right, but I was trying to finish the blanket before the birthday!

Dad's Half-Pipe Hat

I checked out Son of a Stitch N Bitch from the library and thought the whole book was pretty cool and I even wanted to make a few things for myself. My husband and dad thought the whole book was nonsense! However, my dad did like this hat! It's called The Half-Pipe Hat.

I used less than 2 50g balls of Dehli Queensland Collection color 05; 90% wool 10% Nylon. It took me forever to find the right yarn because none of the LYS around here sold the yarn used in the pattern. I can't remember off the top of my head what it called for, but I do remember that it was 2 strands of 100% baby camel. The brim is a crescent shape cut from the plastic grid material used for rug hooking. I think the hat came out great. I really enjoyed making the it altogether. I was fairly quick, easy, and painless.

I got this pattern off of the Lion Brand website. I made this scarf for my friend Lynn. I used Lion Brand Homespun (Tudor 6oz) and a K hook. I believe the pattern calls for Lion Brand Fiesta (don't quote me) but I really loved the coloring of this yarn. The pictures really don't do the colors justice.

I love this pattern. I found it on CrochetMe.com. It's super easy and works up in about an hour. I made this scarf for my sister for xmas obviously, but she didn't want to pose for it. I used Lion Brand Wool Ease worsted weight (Blue Heather 3oz). I used the whole skein and I think it came out perfectly. I wish she were in the picture because it looks so pretty next to her dark hair!

dad's slippers

I knitted these for my Dad for Christmas with Patons Shetland Tweeds Chunky (Charcoal 3oz) with size 11 bamboo dpn's and size 8 dpn's for the leg. I don't know what the black yarn is because I bought it without the label.
They are extremely soft and comfy.
You can find this pattern in the Interweave Knits Gifts issue. You actually have to buy this magazine because you will want to make everything in it, whether it is for someone else or not!!!

sleeping mask

My sister's birthday is so close to Christmas and with all the xmas projects I had going on, I had very little time to create something extravagent. I whipped this up in a couple of hours using Caron Simply Soft that I had on hand. The mask is double layered and single crocheted together with cute embellishments. My sister loved the gift and I loved the ease of the project. You can find this project in the Winter issue of Crochet Today.

This is my all-time favorite scarf. It was quick to make on 10.5 bamboo dpn's. The color is a beautiful reddish pink heather wool acrylic blend. I used Pingouin Le Yarn 3 (color 7601 3.5oz). The cables were super easy and I can't wait to wear it. You can find the pattern on Ravelry.

I made these for my mom for Christmas. It was a pattern from Simple Crochet. I used 2 strands held together of Red Heart Baby Teri (white 3 oz skein) and monogramed the slippers with 2 strands held together of Watermelon Caron Simply Soft. I must admit that I am not a master embroiderer, but it was a great gift. I plan to make some for myself but have to find the perfect color!

The eyes were actually very easy to find at Michael's. Just ask the lady where the doll eyes are. Now that you mention it, the Michael's staff is super knowledgable. Love this skirt. It's pretty heavy, tho. Took about a pound and a half of peaches n cream cotton-ecru and buttercream. It has cute little white buttons on the "yoke" (a word i had never heard until i started to crochet!). I actually got a compliment from this lady at the liquor store! She asked who made it and I said, oh me! She said that she loved it! I was so shocked that someone knew that it was handmade that i didnt even ask if she crocheted-dammit!!!! I'll need beer again eventually and then I'll go back and ask!!!

This is my berry tank top that i have been working on for about 3 months now. i used i-dunno-how-many skeins (maybe 7ish) of fingering yarn and a g hook. my gauge was perfect, but the scalloped part was too big! i have to adjust my straps and buttons so that it will fit a little better. but everything else was perfect. i wore it to a barbeque yesterday and everybody loved it. i got my picture taken a lot too, and i didnt realize how slimming the top was!!! :)

one skein scarf

This is the finished product! I used Caron Simply Soft in New White and Black and TLC Baby with the pink (its almost a coral). It came out to be 63" point to point.
I made it for a friend for her birthday, but she hasn't got the package yet, so we'll see in a couple of days if she likes it. She lives in Texas and I dont think that she needs a blanket, but they are just so beautiful and they have a million uses.

drop design halter

I made this at the beginning of the summer. I got my mother-in-law to line it for me and she did a spankin awesome job!!! I'm very happy with it, however, it is a very revealing top and I believe I will crochet a little more around the back. There's a lot of side boob showing, which can be sexy (but not around in-laws/parents),so I am going to add from the side of the cups around.
I will probably make another one as well. The top fits great, but the pattern called for the "skirt part" to be buttoned up rather than the seams sewed, so I will do that with the next halter because I think it would fit better.

This is my giant fbb. I did 30 inc. rows, 30 straight, and 30 dec. rows. Basically, I doubled the whole pattern, including the base chain.
To give you an idea of the size, it goes from shoulder to hip. The second picture has the FBB from the original pattern: stitches, rows, base, everything as per the pattern.

I dont remember the title for this, but it is in SNB. Real easy. Took about a day. I want to find a better flower pattern. I saw one on Crochetville, and PMed the lady, but she never responded. It was 3-Dish.
This is going to be a gift for a friend, but I want to find a way to make the handles more stiff. I was thinking maybe putting wooden skewers thru the top stitches, or single crocheting them into the top. I dunno yet.

I LOVE this! Its also from SNB. I guess I couldn't live without that book! My finished project came out with a little more drape than the picture in the pattern. I don't even know what kind of yarn I used because I had this yarn for about a year and a half. Back then, I just threw the label away! Ugh, rookie! But, the capelet used less than one skein. I had to finaggle a little bit with the gauge to get it right. Also, these pom poms were my first!!!

1st original design

This is my very first original pattern! I have a hard time finding a purse at the store, so I decided to design my own. It works out great. It is lovely and I am proud.

The second picture, my mother-in-law ripped out the lining that I had done in the first picture and made it better. She also reinforced the strap so that it doesn't hang so much. She has about 50 years seamstress experience over my hemming jeans experience.

cupcake top

This is my cupcake top from SNB. I was so impressed with it. However, when I went to go try it on, it did not fit around the hips. I had just got done reading the larger hook tutorial from CrochetMe, but alas, I had been working on my top for a while already. Anyway, I should have used a larger hook on the foundation chain because that was the only part that was too tight. The whole top fit perfectly and I loved it. So I gave it to my sister-in-law, who fits it perfectly. Ugh! I will make another one someday. It was such an easy pattern and worked up really fast. I used about 1 1/2 skeins of caron simply soft in new white.

my first FBB

This is the first FBB that I made. I wasn't too happy with the size. It's too small to put ANY essentials in it. My mother-in-law is lining it for me because I'm a big baby and she is waaaay better than me! She used to be a professional seamstress, so I trust her mor than myself. The purse is actually more of a fuschia color-- a brighter pink than in the picture.
